Why do creatives, intuitives, nomads, healers and non-conformists need a tailored and aligned approach to relocation and astrocartography?

As a painter myself I’ve noticed that as helpful, talented and empathic as many astrocartography readers are, they tend to prioritise the lines and planetary energies which traditionally bring good fortune, expansion and ease. Obviously, we all desire these traits in a place and experience; however, intuitives, artists and healers are usually drawn to more nuanced and complex planetary lines.

Why? Well, we might have a deep task to complete, a divine mission in process, a childhood trauma to work through..

There are a myriad of valid reasons why some of us are drawn to places that are not considered ‘easy’, yet are profoundly in alignment with our mission in this earthly realm.

Planetary energies, when understood, mastered and worked with, rather than against, can influence our work greatly… providing us with what we need when it calls.

Saturn can provide us with the discipline to keep on keeping on when our creative life requires long hard work and no end in sight.

Neptune can bring us into connection with the divine and channel to us our most otherworldly ideas and intuitions.

Chiron can help us to unearth some of our most deeply buried pain and alchemise it into good. The north node can help us on our way, directing us to our soul purpose.

The spiritual line clusters

Where we are drawn to might not be, and probably won’t be, where most astrocartographers tell you to go. As spiritual beings we aren’t necessarily called to Venus and Jupiter lines, because maybe we aren’t meant to live on them full time.

The question remains; do we follow the call? Or do we outsource our power to an egoic need for control?

If a well guided professional we have paid tells us to go somewhere because it will be easier for us, with Mercury and Jupiter lines, but we have no pull to go there, it doesn’t light us up and doesn’t feel aligned, then what do we do?

This is a key issue for creatives, artists, healers, non conformists and intuitive, sensitive souls.

It isn’t that we don’t want that potential ease and expansion, it’s that on our mission there is a greater goal and other planetary energies are involved.

Ultimately our birth chart is what is acting out in every place across the map, so we take the natal promise with us. What is meant for us won’t pass us by; even if we don’t live on a Jupiter MC line.

Why use astrocartography then?

Astrocartography, when used in alignment with your unique life path, callings and gifts can offer us a wonderful guide as to how best alchemise what we are already drawn to, and what we are already doing.

We can use locational astrology to find the most aligned places to live, work and travel for exposure, depth and inspiration.

But most importantly, what lights you up? Where are you drawn to? What do you need right now?

A layered approach

By looking at the map we can decipher where within a region or country you can best utilise the planetary energies available, without them becoming too much. Parans and geodetic lines are just as important to consider because they have a strong influence and can outweigh the astrocartography lines.

Most astrocartographers don’t use geodetic lines in sessions because they are considered secondary to astrocartography lines.

This may have less of an impact in places where you have astrocartography lines, but in places where you can only see parans and no ACG lines, there may be a hidden layer of meaning that only becomes visible with geodetic lines.

For this reason I always use Geodetic lines, ACG lines and local space lines, along with parans of course.In my experience parans have a very strong influence on a place and can have a deeply transformative effect.

When used well, parans can fine tune a place and deliver a make or break in long term relocation.

For example, you may have a cluster of soul purpose lines (a few lines that run in parallel to one another) and feel so drawn to a place, yet due to a few hard parans your experience is overwhelming and you feel the need to relocate. If you moved off that hard paran but remained in the same region you would be able to harness those energies you were drawn to, without it feeling too heavy.

This is why we need to carefully assess all the layers and ‘view modes’ available to us in locational astrology.
